William “Bo” Cates, DO grew up in a rural community outside of Lubbock, TX. He completed his undergraduate degree in kinesiology at Texas A&M University in 2014 and graduated from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021. Dr. Cates then completed residency in family medicine at the Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT where he served as Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Cates completed an additional year of emphasized training in musculoskeletal evaluation and management through a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he also cared for Division 1 collegiate athletes and community members of all ages.
Dr. Cates is excited to care for the vibrant Bend community. He holds a passion for promoting fitness and helping people perform to the best of their abilities. His sports medicine practice focuses on prevention and recovery so that people can fully enjoy the activities that they love. He uses a wide range of procedures including ultrasound evaluation, steroid and protein rich plasma (PRP) injections, and hydro-dissection. In his family practice, he cares for patients of all ages with all manner of medical conditions. He enjoys establishing long-term relationships and working with patients on their health journey.
You can find Dr. Cates and his wife, Erica, on the mountain bike trails in the summer or chasing the powder in the winter. He enjoys travel, theater, woodworking, and being involved in the community.
