Behavioral Health

SCHEDULE TODAY!

High Lakes Health Care offers same day and scheduled access to Behavioral Health Consultants for primary care patients to help make positive changes and reach health goals.

Your primary care Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) is an independently licensed psychologist or clinical social worker who works closely with your primary care physician to help provide you with whole-person health through team-based care.

Many people we treat have a physical condition that is affected by stress or have difficulty maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Everyone struggles with sleep, anxiety, or depression at some point in their life, and it is not always easy to know where to turn for help. Your BHC can assist you with developing a plan to challenge these issues and accessing the support you need.

What does a Behavioral Health Consultant do?

BHC’s offers brief consultations that are designed to provide you with straightforward feedback and skill-building to help improve your overall well-being. Patients are typically seen two to four times for 30-minute sessions. BHC’s do not prescribe medications but can help connect you to this service as needed.

When can you see a Behavioral Health Consultant?

BHC’s are generally available Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM at the Upper Mill and Shevlin office locations, and have limited hours available at Hospital District.

How can you see a Behavioral Health Consultant?

Call our team directly at (541) 706-3836 or talk to your primary care physician at your next office visit! We have an open access model that allows patients to be seen on an urgent basis if needed. You do not need a referral to see a Behavioral Health Consultant as a patient of primary care.

How much will it cost to see a Behavioral Health Consultant?

BHC’s are contracted with all insurance companies accepted by High Lakes Health Care. This service is covered by all insurance plans. In many cases there is no direct cost to a patient. This service often costs less than seeing an independent mental health provider in the community. To find out your specific cost, we can assist you, or you can call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about mental health outpatient costs. Please reach out to the High Lakes behavioral health team at (541) 706-3836 with any further questions or concerns.
