“I consider my patients as partners in their care and we work as a team to promote their optimal wellness.”

Dr. Stephen Mann is a Colorado native who brought his love of the outdoors to Oregon in 1983. He is a Board Certified Osteopathic Family Practitioner with special interest in whole family care, wellness medicine, sports medicine, back and neck care including osteopathic manipulative medicine and primary care psychiatry. He knew by the sophomore year of high school that he wanted to be a physician and brought that long-term interest in health to High Lakes as one of the original partners in the practice.

“I consider my patients as partners in their care and we work as a team to promote their optimal wellness,” says Mann, who currently serves as the medical director at High Lakes Health Care. He has served as president of the local medical society and the state Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon. At St. Charles, he currently serves as director of the Education Committee. He is currently the President of the Central Oregon Independent Provider Association (COIPA) which serves an area of 44,000 square miles in Oregon with a provider membership of 700. He is the physician representative to the Central Oregon Health Council which is designing a Coordinated Care Organization in the tri-county area. In 1989, he co-founded HealthWise to assist individuals with healthy lifestyle changes and corporations with wellness promotion programs.

His wife, Deborah MacWilliams, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and they share three active children. Hobbies include watercolor painting, hiking, skiing, competitive masters swimming, gardening and woodworking. He has traveled and studied in many foreign countries and speaks passable German but considers Central Oregon the best place to live and practice medicine.
