Gary A Levinson, MD is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but spent most of his career in Southern California. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. He did a fellowship in Psychoanalytic Training at the San Diego Psychoanalytical Institute.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Levinson joined the Army and was Chief Psychiatrist for a 30 bed unit in Fort Gordon, Georgia before moving to California. He has a wide range of experience. Dr Levinson has been Medical Director for Geriatric Psychiatric Units, Psychiatrist for Nursing and Assisted Living facilities, Medical Director for a Chemical Rehabilitation Program, and supervised Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Neurology Residents. HeĀ has always maintained a private practice. Dr. Levinson is Board Certified in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry as well as ASAM Certified in Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Levinson is excited for the opportunity to be part of the High Lakes Health Care Behavioral Health Program, and looks forward to being part of the team.
Dr. Levinson and his wife, Linda, love to spend time with their son, Tyler, and his wife, Ashley, and their granddaughters. Tyler is a Bend Equine Veterinarian who has a farm in Tumalo. There they enjoy horses, goats, bunnies, chickens and a variety of dogs and cats. Dr. Levinson is a jazz enthusiast and plays the saxophone, and he also hopes to perfect his fly fishing while in Central Oregon.
