Urgent Care

1140 SW Simpson Ave. #100
Bend, Oregon 97702

Eric Sorenson believes strongly that being a great primary care provider starts with being a good listener. Through understanding what is important to each patient, and connecting these values to health outcomes, lasting trust and relationships with patients and their families can be formed. He thrives on diagnostic challenges and enjoys educating patients with a down-to-earth version of their evidence-based options for treatment.

Eric earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University in 2018, and was elected to represent his class as a student board member in the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants, in which he remains an involved member. He has realized his dream of returning to serve his community as a primary care provider, a position which resonates with his broad interests in medicine and his ability to connect with patients of all ages.

Eric graduated Magna cum laude with a BS in biology and a chemistry minor at Oregon State University, on the way earning high honors including Distinguished Biology Student, a Waldo-Cummings award and a coveted Ford Family Foundation Scholarship. These awards were a testament to his commitment to academic excellence and community involvement while completing his undergraduate training.

Eric, a 20 year Bend resident, had diverse work experience in his path to be a PA, including construction work, rock climbing guide, bartender, EMT, and most recently a pharmaceutical research chemist. He is an avid climber of rock, ice, and mountains, and co-founded a local non-profit climbers’ advocacy group, as well as serving as Central Oregon’s regional coordinator for The Access Fund for many years. He continues to establish new rock climbs in the Bend area, as well as snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, and running. He lives in Bend with his wife and two daughters, who share his love of outdoor adventure in all seasons.
