Courtney Van Valkenburg, NP is an Oregon native who began her academic journey at the University of Oregon, earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology in 2008. The following year, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. After working as a charge nurse, Courtney pursued advanced training at Boston College, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Women’s Health in 2016.
Her clinical training included placements at MIT, Boston Medical Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital, providing her with a broad range of patient care experiences. She was recognized with the Clinical Excellence Award by her graduating class at Boston College. Since then, Courtney has practiced in both California and Texas before returning home to Oregon in 2021 with her husband and their two young children. Bend holds a special place in her heart—her grandparents lived in the community for many years, and she grew up skiing with them at Mt. Bachelor. She is grateful to now call Bend home rather than just a destination.
Outside of work, Courtney stays active running, hiking, and skiing, often alongside her two energetic children, ages 2 and 4. She also enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and connecting with friends she has made across the country. With deep roots in Oregon and a passion for women’s health, Courtney is excited to serve the women of Central Oregon and to be part of their care journey.
