Scott Plants is a board certified Physician Assistant. A Bend native, he graduated from Oregon State University in 2014 in Exercise and Sports Science with a focus in medicine. After graduating, he worked at St. Charles Medical Center as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department to obtain clinical hours to apply for Physician Assistant School. He graduated Idaho State University’s Physician Assistant program in Boise, ID in 2019.
After completing his graduate program, he spent time working at Seattle Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant department, providing chronic disease management for children and adolescents of all backgrounds. Wanting to transition his career into a more preventative approach, Scott fulfilled his dream to move back to his hometown and provide long-term care to a community he loves.
Scott believes that the combination of continuity of care and the unique opportunity to become an active part of a patient’s long-term health goals is the cornerstone of good medicine. He places a strong emphasis on building a positive and meaningful relationship with his patients, promoting education and joint decision-making to improve a patient’s health and overall well-being.
Scott lives with his partner, Erica, and their dog Piper. While not at work, they are typical Bendites who enjoy the outdoors and everything that this wonderful city has to offer, such as boating, hiking, trail-running, golfing, and skiing.
